What is Early Interceptive or Phase I Orthodontic Treatment?

Early interceptive orthodontic treatment involves addressing orthodontic issues in children at a younger age, typically between the ages of 7 and 11. This proactive approach allows us to intervene early, guiding the growth and development of the teeth and jaw to prevent more serious issues from arising later on. The American Association of Orthodontics (AAO) recommends that children should get check up with their orthodontist by age 7.

How Can it Help?

Preventive Intervention: By addressing orthodontic issues early, we can often prevent more severe problems from developing, reducing the need for extensive treatment in the future.
Guided Growth: Early treatment allows us to guide the growth of your child's teeth and jaw, promoting proper alignment and reducing the likelihood of overcrowding or spacing issues.
Improved Bite: Correcting bite problems early on can prevent issues such as difficulty chewing, speaking, and even temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders in the future.
Boosted Confidence: A healthy, properly aligned smile can have a significant impact on your child's confidence and self-esteem, setting them up for success in social and academic settings.

Such a great experience. Dr. Htut and staff were/are all great, kind and welcoming. Dr. Htut is one of the nicest and pleasant individuals you will meet. He and staff made my invisalign journey such an easy and smooth process.I was very self conscious of my crooked teeth but Dr. Htut made sure and fulfilled the promise in making sure I get that 'Hollywood Smile'. Took less time than anticipated.
Highly Recommend!

Dr. Htut and the team are amazing, professional, and overall, 1000/100! Dr. Htut and the team are very open w/ communication in regards to appts and squeezing patients in last minute for any issues (ie broken braces, springs, etc). From the first day we entered the program, to the last day of phase 1, the office has been very patient centered.
Kim, Heather, all the assistants and technicians are just amazing. The office is very responsive as well about trying to accommodate patients schedules as needed. Dr. Htut came as a recommendation from a family member and it is the best choice we ever made. The journey has been long, but it has all been worth it.

Dr. Htut is truly an ethical doctor who prioritizes his patients’ dental health. I had a consultation for Invisalign and was truly impressed by Dr. Htut’s honesty, professionalism, and friendly demeanor. I saw Dr. Htut because I was seeking the opinion of an orthodontist, not a dentist. My case is somewhat complex, and he actually recommended that I do not get the Invisalign treatment at this time. It’s easy to find a provider who will provide a treatment to bring in some cash, but to actually find a doctor who believes it is in the patient’s best interest to not get a treatment is rare!
